Attracting more tourists, building visitor loyalty and delivering a personalized experience are key challenges for every tourism board and destination. Since July 24, the Grand Sancerre region has an innovative solution to these challenges : Suzzie, a generative AI chatbot. Developed in partnership with the ComitĂ© RĂ©gional du Tourisme Centre-Val de Loire, winner of Atout France’s “Tourism innovation & Experimentation” Call for Expressions of Interest (CEI), this project is part of the Destination France plan and is supported by the French government through Atout France.

Suzzie is a 24/7 generative AI chatbot designed to provide tourists with all the practical information they need to discover the region. Directly connected to the Tourinsoft platform, the conversational agent is able to provide information in real time. Visitors can get detailed information on places to visit, activities to enjoy, events not to miss, and much more.
Accessible via QR codes on 15 billboards along the Loire lateral Canal and La Loire à Vélo, this chatbot is available in five languages : French, English, Spanish, German and Dutch. The QR codes are strategically placed in nine municipalities: Sury-prÚs-Léré, Léré, Boulleret, Bannay, Saint-Satur, Sancerre, Ménétréol-sous-Sancerre, Thauvenay and Saint-Bouize. The chatbot is also accessible from the Grand Sancerre Tourism Office website to help travelers plan their visit.
Visitors can ask Suzzie questions and get instant answers by scanning the QR code or opening the chat bubble on the Grand Sancerre region website. The chatbot responds in a personalized way, taking into account preferences such as age, types of activities desired, or dates of stay. Suzzie offers a customized service that optimizes each traveler’s experience. In addition to tourist information, it provides details of essential services such as transport and local shops, encouraging visitors to fully explore the nine municipalities in the area.
